Garden Design
At your initial meeting Robert will discuss your requirements in detail whilst reviewing the layout, aspect and immediate environment of your garden. He will then recommend an appropriate level of design service, from onsite consultancy to formal scale drawings such as concept and planting plans, and provide a quote for any fees.
Whether you are starting with a blank canvas or need a redesign of an existing garden, the starting point is often a Concept Plan, a scale plan that demonstrates how the proposals will work both practically and aesthetically. This will be prepared using specialist CAD software and illustrated with photographs of plants and materials.
Beautiful Plants
Beautiful plants are key to the Genesis soft landscaping service – we source and install everything from herbs, bulbs and perennials to hedging and semi-mature trees, whether as an individual planting project or alongside the garden design service.
With hundreds of thousands of stunning plants to choose from, it’s all about knowing which plant should go where, not only to fit soil, light and water levels, but also to create a cohesive space that connects with both house and owner. Plants are carefully selected to lift shade with e.g. golds and whites, or introduce bold colours for bright mid-summer sunshine, or soft pastels to create a dreamy, romantic atmosphere. It’s all about having an emotional engagement with your garden.
Maintenance
Once your perfect outdoor space has been created, help is at hand to keep it that way.
Planting plans now come as standard with a seasonal care programme care of Shoot Gardening. A special area within the site will be created for your garden where you can see all the plants that have been supplied and installed.
Each month you will receive a reminder of the tasks for that month based on your specific collection of plants. It’s then up to you whether you engage Robert’s own team of gardeners to carry out the tasks or if you decide to undertake them yourself.

Plant of the month
Wisteria has to be my favourite April plant, both for colour and scent. Available in pale and deep purples and a stunning white version.
This Month’s Garden Task
Prune back roses and ornamental grasses if you havent done so already. The latest advice is to wait until spring to cut back roses rather than autumn.
